General Information
Please bring certification card, log book and if necessary a DIN-Adapter along. A Liability Release form has to be signed prior to all dives or courses.
Concerning safety please follow the instructions of our personnel. The maximum depth for Open Water divers is 18m, for advanced divers 40m. Open Water Divers with a number of logged dives deeper than 18m and intending to go deeper than 18m will have to get the approval of the manager in order to join deep dives. The advice from the management is to accomplish the advanced course so that certain liability issues are ruled out.
Decompression dives for non-tech divers are not allowed.
Boats
We use traditional outrigger boats in our operation. These are boats with a long history in diving. The boats are balanced by bamboos attached to outriggers. Even in wavy environment (considering weather conditions) it is still safe to dive.
For house reef dives and the dive sites closer to the dive center we usually use dinghies, small flat boats. We have two dinghies in operation. If the group is bigger the outrigger boat will be used for the service.
Dive schedules
To Monad Shoal and Gato Island we have to depart as early as 06:00am in the morning.
Night dives meeting time is scheduled for 05:30pm and at 06:30pm we are in the water. Our house reefs are perfect for night dives.
Additional services
Your personal equipment or the equipment you choose from us will be placed in bigger plastic boxes (except the wetsuit). The boxes are stored and locked inside the equipment room beside the dive center and prior to every dive our staff is transferring it to the boat. Our staff carries the tanks to the boats and you set up your equipment on board.
If we do beach dives the equipment will be assembled at the dive center and our staff carries it to the boat.
After you finish the dive and before entering the boat we advise our divers to take off the weight belt and the BCD at the surface. Carrying equipment into the boat leads to accidents at the entry area. Our staff will pull out the equipment from the water. Arriving back to the dive center our staff will take care carrying your equipment to the washing area.
Equipment rental
We rent out equipment per dive. A complete set includes: BCD, regulator, wetsuit, weight belt/leads, fins, booties, mask and snorkel.
It is also possible to rent per piece, for example fins and/or booties or mask and/or snorkel, etc.
If needed we rent out refilled tanks (don't forget your C-Card).
Please see our price list for all other equipment and items for rent, for example boats, life west's, scuba tanks, cameras, dive computer, etc.
U/W-Cameras rental
You can avail a dive package, course or fun dive, which includes U/W-picture taking or U/W-filming with digital cameras. This is a nice idea of having a lifetime remembrance of your first time under water, your continuing education or fun dives. A guide will take care of the photo/video taking. You just tell him what you would like to have on film.
Safety
One Oxygen tank and a Medic First Aid kid are on board. Also a cell phone and/or a radio are available in case of the unlikely event of an emergency. We are member of the PCGA Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary.
In case of an emergency the rescue team 505 will be soon available with a helicopter. The next decompression chamber is located in Cebu/Mactan (032-2549261-62) or on board coast guard SAR vessels 001 to 004.
These boats have a helicopter landing deck and a 35 knots speedboat can be released from a ramp. It will assist in all areas of the water and get the diver direct into the vessel. We are hoping to have our own chamber soon at Alona Beach. |
